World Day for Safety and Health at Work

April 28th isWorld Day for Safety and Health at Work. With this day, the International Labour Organization aims to raise awareness about the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases. Employees have the right to a safe and healthy workplace, which is promoted by both management and employees themselves. System Flex prefers its employees to be in good health. We strive to achieve this in various ways.

Physical health

Physical health refers to everything related to your body. Physical health is a healthy body. This includes, for example, your resistance, the functioning of your organs, and your fitness or endurance. You can improve your physical health by eating healthily and getting enough exercise.

System Flex motivates its employees to stay active. For example, we have our own fitness room on the premises where employees can let off some steam after a hard day's work.

We also encourage employees to eat fruit. We do this by offering free fresh fruit every day, from bananas to snack tomatoes. (Is that considered fruit?)

Our workstations are ergonomically designed. This allows employees to fully customize their workspace to their comfort level. From chair to desk! Back pain is a thing of the past.

Our Friday afternoon drinks are also important. Then we fire up the air fryer instead of the fryer.

Mental health

Not only is physical health important, but mental health shouldn't be underestimated either. Mental health is about the health of your mind. It means feeling good about yourself. You can achieve this, among other things, by lowering your stress levels. There are several other things you can do to improve your mental health. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) has the following to say about this:

  • Live with a mission
  • Set goals
  • Think positive
  • Live consciously
  • Care for friendship
  • Don't worry
  • Tackle problems
  • Eat healthy

We try to promote our employees' mental health in various ways. For example, we do this with our time-for-time policy. If you work a few hours overtime, you can use those hours elsewhere. This allows you to leave a few hours early on Friday, for example. Isn't that great?

We also have various System Flex Playlists on Spotify, featuring uplifting music, relaxing music, and meditation podcasts. Employees can access these playlists without restriction. We also offer gadgets to make working as comfortable as possible, such as headphones!

At System Flex, we have several outdoor and indoor spaces where employees can retreat or get some fresh air. The building is also filled with various plants and a real moss creation , because did you know that greenery in the office also has a positive effect on your mental health?
