Office design RUD Utrecht: Bamboo, glass and sustainable reuse
System Flex created new office spaces for the Regional Implementation Service Utrecht (RUD Utrecht) , located in the Provincial Government Buildings in Utrecht. One thing was central to this project: combining the client's new needs with the existing situation to create a unified whole.
The result is a modern, sustainable and functional working environment that fits in perfectly with the rest of the floor.
System walls – bamboo, glass and acoustic comfort
Flex Stud and metal stud walls , finished with stylish bamboo panels, have been installed throughout the office. This natural finish gives the interior a warm, fresh feel while also providing excellent sound absorption. Our Flex Light system has also been installed, combined with glass pivot doors for maximum transparency.
Acoustic improvements and sustainable reuse
Sustainability was a key focus of this project: existing materials were reused wherever possible. For example, existing pivot doors were remeasured, adjusted, and integrated into the new layout. The glass in specific areas was also replaced with glass with a higher acoustic value to meet the latest privacy requirements.
Precision work on pivot doors and floor installation
Installing the pivot doors required a great deal of precision work. The floor socket had to be integrated into a computer floor, which required extra precision from our installers. Each door was carefully adjusted to ensure a seamless fit against the walls and a perfect rotation.
