This year, Technology Day will take place in Dongen for the third time.
Last year there was a fantastic turnout of 1,068 visitors and 23 participating companies, and the organization hopes to surpass that number again this year.
Dongen Technology Day is the annual meeting place for young and old, for everyone with a passion for or curiosity about technology. Last year, on October 12th, the second edition took place in the charming HeuvelPark in Dongen. The grounds opened their doors from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, after which hundreds of visitors—from primary school students to new students—enthusiastically participated in the activities.
Purpose & mission
The central goal of Technology Day is to inspire. Visitors will discover the diversity of technical professions and how technology is present in everyday life – from construction and installation to manufacturing. Besides expanding knowledge, the event is practical: workshops, presentations, and hands-on activities allow participants to truly get hands-on with technology.
Companies & participants
Local and regional businesses will be presenting themselves at the "inspiration square" with stalls, demos, and expert staff. Under the name "core team," a few prominent participants will serve as the driving force behind the event, including:
- Stronk Maakt – Youth workshop for young people with a distance to the labor market, who develop practical talent
- Van Schijndel Metal , Marel , Adrie van Leijsen Cars , Hoppenbrouwers , Trobas Gelatine and Schellekens Total Projects
Companies such as Hoppenbrouwers (electrical engineering and industrial automation) and Merkx Kozijnen (carpentry industry) offered students and visitors a look behind the scenes in their fields of expertise
Together they represent a broad spectrum: manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, factory technology, and installation. Representatives from training providers and sector initiatives, such as Techniekcoalitie Brabant, will also be present to increase opportunities for lateral entrants into the labor market.
Workshops & demonstrations
Throughout the day, you'd encounter loop saws, welding equipment, and even bricks. Young people could try their hand at masonry and welding, supervised by professionals. The rough sounds of chisels and grinding wheels created a pleasant chaos in the factory. Some students from Cambreur College even got a sneak preview.
In addition, companies offered interactive demos of modern technology: from CNC machines and industrial automation to sustainable carpentry and automotive technology.
Career and orientation
A key objective is to help participants find internships, part-time jobs, vacancies, or a complete career change. Young people and adults had the opportunity to talk with technical professionals and job market coaches, including representatives from Techniekcoalitie Brabant.
Organizers shared positive experiences, with 1,068 visitors enjoying the event last year, a significant increase compared to 430 in 2023.
Location & accessibility
The HeuvelPark at Heuvelstraat 5 is an ideal location: spacious, centrally located, and easily accessible by bike and car. Parking is available on-site or at the nearby DVVC field on Sportlaan, with clear signage and volunteer assistance.

Looking ahead
Due to the success in 2023 and 2024, the third edition has already been set: on Saturday, October 4, 2025 , again from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in HeuvelPark Dongen. With new companies, more workshops and fresh challenges, it promises to be even bigger and better.
