Building Experience: The Lobby Rijswijk – A botanical masterpiece
Welcome to "Building Experience," the column where we bring architecture and interior design to life. Today we're in Rijswijk to visit The Lobby . According to its creators, this eleven-story masterpiece is the perfect place to proudly welcome clients and prospects. We'll put it to the test and, of course, begin our journey in the impressive central hall.
Light play in a glass 'greenhouse'
The enormous windows in the ceiling give the lobby the feel of a giant greenhouse. The natural light dances on the velvet furniture, with the bold pumpkin orange of the chairs contrasting beautifully with the deep green elements. The combination of wood and glass is carried through to the highest standards, creating a warm yet ultra-modern feel.
Floating jungle gardens and intimate corners
For those seeking a more secluded spot, The Lobby offers covered seating areas with floating platforms adorned with tropical hanging plants. Atmospheric, spherical lamps nestled among the greenery create a subdued, intimate atmosphere. This jungle theme is just a taste of what the rest of the building has to offer. In the offices and meeting rooms, the "No Scene without Green" philosophy is fully realized, complete with waterfall wallpaper and plant walls that boost productivity.
Unity through diversity
What makes The Lobby special is that it houses various tenants, each with their own distinct tastes. Yet, the well-thought-out interior design has created a strong visual unity. Whether you're on the ground floor or the eleventh, the quality and ambiance remain consistent.
Craftsmanship of System Flex
System Flex worked for 2.5 months on behalf of Pro Property to create the many square meters of system walls. Our Flex Light 2.0, Flex Industrial, and Flex Stud walls were used in this project. The Flex Industrial walls, in particular, with their three-way division, offer unique design flexibility.
The industrial glass-framed doors are combined with curtains; a perfect solution for privacy in a transparent office environment that simultaneously creates a chic hotel atmosphere. We are proud of this result and the excellent collaboration!
