Welcome to "Building Experience," the column where we bring the construction, architecture, and interior of a building to life through words. We embark on a visual journey through a building and introduce you to the unique features that make it what it is—from classical palaces to modern skyscrapers. We discover what makes these buildings so special. Join us on this fascinating journey through the world of architecture and design.
Let's take a look at Digital Survival Company from Nieuwegein! This company is like a superhero, helping other businesses survive in this digital world. They offer cloud- and data-driven solutions, preventing others from getting lost in the digital jungle. But while the employees at Digital Survival Company like to keep their heads in the clouds, the office keeps them grounded. The interior transports you to a place where ones and zeros don't matter. And while it might sound cliché, Digital Survival Company has managed to bring that "home" feeling to the office. The Digital Survival Company's "about us" page puts it beautifully: "Feel at home in our wonderful office." And that's exactly what you feel the moment you step into their office.
Let's take a look at the waiting area. It feels like stepping into a living room, but without the scattered socks and half-eaten pizzas on the coffee table. The blue velvet sofa is so soft and comfortable that you almost forget what you're there for. Roos Reedijk would definitely do a happy dance and cuddle the pillows as if they were her own children. The sunbeams streaming through the windows give the deep-pile carpets and herringbone floor a warm glow. And the icing on the cake is two wicker hanging chairs perfect for relaxing. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the waiting area experience!

We're moving from the couch to the refrigerator, because you'll feel right at home in this kitchen too, if you're a kitchen whiz. The cozy feel is enhanced by the daylight streaming in on the gleaming mosaic tiles. The island in the center of the kitchen serves as a bar, where you can kick off Friday afternoon drinks with a drink in hand. The offices are located in the same space as the kitchen, so there's always something going on. But don't worry, there's a clever solution: sound-absorbing glass mini-apartments that serve as office spaces. The canteen acts as a kind of passageway between these apartments, so you're always right in the heart of the action.

Let's imagine for a moment that we're in the lion's den: the room of a typical 14-year-old boy. It's a place where chaos and creativity go hand in hand. It's a space where you feel a boisterous energy and are immersed in a world of games and sports. A game room is a must in the Digital Survival Company office, where employees can sit on the throne of a gaming console, play foosball, and darts. Because, why not?

Did you know that Digital Survival Company is the perfect place to socialize? Besides the fantastic living room, kitchen, and game room, there are also small meeting areas throughout the building. So if you're hosting a client, you don't have to look far for a cozy table and chairs!

But that's not all. The office plants aren't just beautiful to look at, they also create a friendly atmosphere. And let's not forget a real Van Gogh. He might not be the most talkative, but he certainly adds an artistic touch to the space. So if you visit Digital Survival Company, don't forget to say hello to our green friends and the famous painter!
System Flex
This office features several System Flex partitions, and the ceiling has also been installed. Work had already been done on the first floor, with the second floor added later. Naturally, these elements had to be seamlessly integrated. However, some materials were chosen differently. With varying requirements, you ultimately have to create a cohesive whole, and in this case, that was a success.
